HAT-RACK / TRUNK JOB

The hat-rack brackets squeezes sheet metal with a high torque bolting. You can feel the firmness.

If car still in perfect level on garage floor go ahead to find the placing of the wheel well brackets.

An angle drill can be useful when doing the first holes. Also keep the rear bars 90 degrees into brackets.

When having two holes through the wells you can work from underneath. Make sure that aligning is
good in the holes and onto the well with brackets bolted together.

First, scraping off old remains of Mickey Thompson DOT tires of course...

Then make it Chevrolet. Clean it and paint it.

Bars align perfectly. The TIG-welding of tubes/brackets now is about the last heavy fabrication work left.
