JESUS 396 - CHANGING TO A BIGGER CRANK

BRUSHING THE TEETH...

Kenneth Stål of Custom Racing in Örebro helped me to measure all of Jeezus to see if he was up to
specs, and if not - brush him a little. Kenneth is a shortblock specialist in Sweden's possibly most
reputable machineshop. New Callies crank, new main bearings and block were OK all together.

It's a little trickier to measure the Oliver rods. Very careful work to put together the rods and then
torque the stretch bolts by 30 lbs + 40 ° with an angle meter.

The rods were pretty OK after two years of supercharging, only a 0,0039" ovality! That's 0.01 mm.

The Sunnen machine hones that little difference to perfect roundness in no-time.

Checking the roundness in the cylinders with torque plate and head gasket. Since we're going for a new
set of piston rings Kenneth used Sunnen 625 stones for a couple of strokes to get the crosshatches for
the new rings to bite in, breaking in quicker.
