JESUS 396 - CHANGING TO A BIGGER CRANK

DISASSEMBLY

Just where the threads begin...of course.

It took 8 tonnes of pressure to remove the snout out of the damper hub! Builder "Baker" Bergqvist had the
parts made with especially tight clearance to make sure the damper shouldn't move during the hard duty
with the supercharger belt transmission. And it didn't move...but the snout snapped!

We're going to use the same ATI damper again, now with this Big Block hub to the right.

Callies cranks. I wish I had the one to the right from the beginning, a SB crank with a snout with
BB dimensions. And an even better steel quality. This one should be able to take on the abuse
from the supercharger drive, at least with a crank support. They're both balanced with mallory.

Lucky me there's a manufacturing of Chevy SB timing covers with BB crank snout dimension seal!
An expensive special special special part! Thanks Autoshop for finding it!

A FEW OTHER OBSERVATIONS

Some traces are obvious and others are hard to find. Kenneth went all over the engine checking for
messages for us to interpret. Camshaft was OK, as expected. However, factory Optispark distributor
wasn't. Rotor tip was broken and has dragged in the plastics! Yes, I know this can't happen, but the
Optispark didn't know. This is my last Opticrap.

Everything's fine in the lifter valley.

It's nice to take a look at something that someone has put down some good work in. Thanks "Baker"!
